Lorca Mission 2011

Lorca mission accomplished

On May 11, 2011 at 6:47 PM, an earthquake of magnitude 5.1, which has been preceded by an earthquake of 4.5, was confirmed by the Government Delegation in Lorca. The Government delegate, Rafael González Tovar, has confirmed that eight died and two others are very serious. In addition, the number of injured stands at fifty.

On May 13, 2011, we received from the EMAT Lieutenant Colonel Felix Conde, the request for health workers SAMU to assist victims of the earthquake that struck the town of Lorca on May 11, 2011.

SAMU responded to this request by sending five nurses and a doctor at the Masters UECAH. This staff joined the command of Lieutenant Colonel, under the auspices of Escalon Medical Advanced, on May 13, 2011 and remained in place until May 20, 2011.

The main objective of the mission:

  • Support the Escalon Medical Advanced with stabilizing elements in Lorca following the earthquake that happened on May 11, 2011 with health professionals of Master of UECAH.
